Sometimes, all I’m craving is a simple piece of toast or a sandwich paired with a great cup of coffee—and Lucky Lucky Café nails it. Conveniently located near Union Square, Lucky Lucky Café is an art-themed café wi minimalist design. It is right next to a preschool, designed to be both kids and work friendly. The space is thoughtfully divided into laptop-friendly and laptop-free zones. And don’t miss their unique bathroom—it’s playfully designed to look like a swimming pool. Their drink menu features many specialty Asian-inspired drinks, including dalgona coffee, blue banana milk, matcha and hojicha. Note that they don't charge extra for alternative milk. *Avocado BLT Sandwich $15.5 Simple ingredients, but very delectable and refreshing. The foccacia bread was soft and fluffy, which held the juicy toppings well. I can eat this for lunch every day. *The Becca $16.5 The sourdough was toasted to perfection, topped with rosemary tomato sauce, prosciutto and ricotta cheese. *Sea Salt Cloud Cold Brew $6.5 I was recommended to try their sea salt cloud series, and the creamy foam wow-ed me It was similar to cheese foam on boba meeting vanilla ice cream. The slight hint of savory note from the sea salt elevated the flavor. The bitterness of cold brew was balanced by the sweetness from the sweet foam. *Sunrise Cosst Sparkling $6.5 A sparkling orange juice layered with strawberry jam – fruity and refreshing combo. *Lemon Ripeno $12.5 The cutest fruit-shaped sorbet EVER, scooped into a real frozen lemon! Bright, fresh, and tangy, perfect as a summer treat. It was quite sour for me but my bf was happy to enjoy it all by himself.

I headed to Lucky Lucky Café on a breezy Tuesday, the kind of afternoon that feels like a soft exhale. As soon as I stepped in, I was struck by the stillness of the space—the clean, contemporary architecture bathed in natural light, wooden details that added warmth without ever feeling heavy. It had that quiet kind of beauty, like a scene from a well-composed frame. The barista recommended the apricot matcha, and I went with it without thinking twice. What arrived was a drink that felt almost meditative—earthy, subtly sweet, and just vibrant enough to wake the senses without overwhelming them. It wasn’t just good; it was the kind of flavor that lingered with grace. I paired it with their cardamom bun, which was nothing short of stunning. Beautifully baked with a golden finish that caught the light just right, it had that perfect outer crisp and a tender center, rich with the floral-spice of cardamom. It felt indulgent but grounded, like a treat you could savor slowly without rush. What I loved most was how Lucky Lucky manages to hold space for both intention and ease. It’s the sort of café that invites you to stay a little longer than planned, not because it asks you to—but because it feels right to. A gentle retreat in the heart of the city, where everything—from the lighting to the pastries—feels quietly, beautifully considered.

Tried the Blue Banana Milk—it does have a clear banana flavor, but the blue color didn’t quite match what’s shown in the posters. The space is trendy and well-designed, though it can feel a bit cramped.

I recently visited Lucky Lucky Café near Union Square, and I can’t stop thinking about their incredible Pinsa!, “The crust was perfectly crispy yet airy, with a delightful chew, and the fresh mozzarella paired with vibrant tomato sauce. Every bite felt like a treat, and it’s easily the best Pinsa I’ve had in the city. The café itself is a gem, with its artsy, ocean-inspired decor that creates a serene yet modern vibe. “The wave-like design and soft lighting made it a cozy spot. The staff were warm and attentive, offering great suggestions that elevated the meal which added to the overall enjoyment.

A cafe near Union square that’s good for a quick stop for a snack/drink. I came here for a quick lunch and reading session between appointments. Spacious cafe with seating (but no wifi that I noticed). There’s a laptop & non laptop section, which I appreciate. The toast I got was good but a bit pricey for $16.5. The strawberry matcha was disappointing - their recipe is based on milk and it doesn’t really work with plant based alternatives. I had to add in additional sugar because the matcha was bitter. I’m sure it would taste better with real milk but alas.
